Commemorating the 90th anniversary of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Mathematical Faculty of Donetsk National University, with the cooperation of Institute of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, is organizing the Ya. B. Lopatinskii International Conference of Students and Young Scientists on Differential Equations and Its Applications. The conference will be held in Donetsk (Ukraine) in the period November 11-14, 2008.

This conference is named by an outstanding mathematician, talented pedagogue and organizer, Academician of NAS of Ukraine Yaroslav Borisovich Lopatinskii who was a foundator of both the Department of Differential Equations in Donetsk National University and the Department of Partial Differential Equations in the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics of NAS of Ukraine.

The conference is the continuation of the Conference on Differential Equations and Its Applications dedicated to the centenarian jubilee of Ya.B. Lopatinskii (December 6-7, 2006; see http://www.donnu.edu.ua/mf/).In the scientific program, the next topics are planned:

general theory of boundary-value problems for partial differential equations (PDE);
investigation of boundary-value problems for special classes of PDE;
nonlinear boundary-value problems;
ordinary differential equations and dynamical systems;
operator methods in the theory of PDE;
mathematical physics;
applications of PDE.
